We are always looking for the right words to talk about what’s happening, to describe our world, and to make sense of ourselves. We are a collective of thinkers, creators, and communicators. How writing happens is changing rapidly—less print, fewer newsrooms, more virtual and gig work. In writing, we don’t often get the chance to share, discuss, or collaborate.

 

The Pool attempts to change that.

 

Each quarterly issue has a theme. Writers and artists choose concepts to explore related to the theme; editors sign up to work with writers or artists and help them realize their goals for their work. We believe that our best work happens in concert with others.
