collaborative storytelling that is equal parts critical and creative
We're talking about progress(ions). We're talking about getting there.
The concept of “getting there” is intentionally vague. It creates space for us to define what progress means to each of us. Getting there involves roads and public transportation and journeys. It involves relative definitions, looking forward, and reflecting back.
If we’re thinking technically about it, “getting” is an action of taking or receiving, not a mode of transportation. And then, where is there? We don’t know, but the opposite of there is scary. Not getting there means a lack of achievement, a failure, or an abandoned path. Still, most places we’re going, we go without a map. How do you know once you’re there?
Our contributors shared stories, experiences, interviews, and art on the topic of getting there and (sometimes) enjoying the ride. We hope you enjoy the ride, too, and, if nothing else, remember: pirates spend their whole lives following a map, when the real treasure is the friendships they build along the way.
